One of the features of the Japanese Gardens is the variety of bird-life. Many species of birds forage on the dams or lawns or in the trees and bushes. They are quite tame and may be approached to within a few metres. Species that may be seen include Paradise and Black Flycatchers, verious weavers, Moorhen, Dabchick, Egyptian Goose and Kurrichane Thrush. In summer various species of swallow and martin can be skimming over the lawns and water. |
