Fitzsimmons Snake Park, Durban



Fitzsimmons Snake Park is one of Durban's most well-known tourist destinations. A snake park is not everyones favourite choice of entertainment but, if you are interested in snakes and other reptiles, then it is wel worth a visit.


The snake park is home to over 200 species of snakes, reptiles and other interesting creatures. On display you will find some of the most dangerous snakes around including the deadly Black Mamba, the beautiful Green Mamba and the Boomslang. Other snakes on view include pythons, adders, boa constrictors and many more.


In the centre of the snake park is an open snake pit housing Green Mambas, Boomslangs and more. This is where the shows take place. An expert handler shows off some of these deadly snakes while giving a talk about their interesting features.

Directions:

Fitzsimmons Snake Park is located near Mini Town on Snell Parade. Take Old Fort Road heading from the city centre to the beachfront. Turn left into Brickhill Road. Continue until you reach Somtseu Road where you turn right. Turn left when you reach Snell Parade and you will soon see Fitzsimmons Snake Park on your right.
